Shri Vivek Dadhakar
Shri Vivek Dadhakar is a distinguished organiser, ideologue, and social reformer whose life represents more than five decades of unwavering commitment to the nation, society, and India’s civilisational ethos. His journey reflects a rare blend of ideological depth, organisational excellence, administrative experience, and compassionate social service. His association with nationalist thought began in 1960, when he joined the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, where he was shaped by the ideals of discipline, selfless service, and cultural nationalism. Between 1973 and 1978, he was an active and committed member of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, contributing significantly to student movements rooted in national consciousness. During the Emergency period (1975–1977), Shri Dadhkar stood firmly in defence of democratic values. He actively participated in multiple satyagrahas against the authoritarian actions of the then government and was arrested several times for his principled resistance. On 2 October 1983 (Gandhi Jayanti), he took part in the historic Guwahati Satyagraha against illegal infiltration in Assam, offering arrest as part of the nationwide movement organised by ABVP.
With the formal founding of the Bharatiya Janata Party on 6 April 1980 in New Delhi, Shri Vivek Dadhakar associated himself with the party from its very inception. Having been part of the ideological and organisational ecosystem that shaped the party in its formative years, he is widely regarded as a founding-era member of the BJP. From 1978 onwards, he dedicated nearly seventeen years of unpaid service to legislative and parliamentary work, assisting senior leaders with exceptional commitment and discretion. He worked closely with Rambhau Mhalgi, then Member of Parliament from Thane and a pioneering institution-builder, as well as with Ram Kapse, an eminent politician and public intellectual from Maharashtra. During this period, Shri Ram Kapse Ji served as a Member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, before later going on to become the Lieutenant Governor of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Supporting both leaders simultaneously, Shri Dadhkar contributed extensively to legislative research, constituency engagement, and organisational coordination—entirely without remuneration—reflecting a life anchored in service rather than position. His formal organisational responsibilities within the BJP span several strategically significant regions of the country. In 1995, he was appointed Sangathan Mantri, BJP Jammu & Kashmir, where he worked under challenging socio-political conditions. Between 2003 and 2004, he served as Sangathan Mahamantri, BJP Arunachal Pradesh. From 2004 to 2007, he worked as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the Lieutenant Governor of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, gaining valuable administrative and governance experience. Subsequently, he undertook organisational responsibilities in BJP Uttarakhand (2007–2008), followed by his role as Sangathan Mantri, BJP Haryana (2008–2012). From 2013 to 2023, he served as Organisation General Secretary, BJP Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu, playing a key role in strengthening the party’s structure in tribal and geographically sensitive regions. He continued this responsibility as Sangathan Mahamantri, BJP Andaman & Nicobar Islands (2023–2024). Parallel to his extensive political responsibilities, Shri Dadhakar has remained deeply engaged in social transformation. He is a Founder Member and Patron of Vidyarthi Sahayata Pratishthan, Kalyan (Maharashtra), established in 1982, which has been running a school since 1987 for Dalits, economically weaker sections, deprived communities, migrant populations, and underprivileged Muslim children. Today, the institution educates over 1,400 students, standing as a powerful example of inclusive education and social harmony. He is also a Founder Member and Patron of Helpline Humanity, working for the holistic development of children from the Kashmiri Hindu community in Nagarota, Jammu. Through initiatives in education, libraries, sports, music, and personality development, the organisation promotes comprehensive growth rooted in dignity and cultural continuity. Further, Shri Dadhakar is a Founder Member and Patron of Matribhoomi Seva Mission, currently operating in Amin Village near Kurukshetra, which runs a boarding school for orphaned, poor, and drowned children, along with a gaushala and multiple community-oriented service initiatives. Since 2019, he has been actively guiding women’s empowerment efforts in the tribal regions of Jawhar (Maharashtra) and Dadra & Nagar Haveli through the organisation Adika, which trains women in imitation jewellery making and provides them with sustainable livelihood opportunities. He serves as a Founder Member and Patron of this initiative as well. It is a matter of profound honour and privilege for Bharatiya Neeti Samvad Kendra to have Shri Vivek Dadhakar as its Patron and Visionary Leader. His life—rooted in ideology, refined through organisation, tested in governance, and enriched by social service—offers invaluable guidance to our mission. We are truly blessed to receive his mentorship and leadership as we strive to strengthen national dialogue, policy thought, and societal transformation grounded in India’s civilisational consciousness.
